Adult EAL literacy instruction is specialized work—and it’s stronger when we do it together. The Literacy Centre of Expertise community connects instructors and service providers across Canada to share practical resources, explore effective teaching approaches, and learn from one another. Through our conference, monthly “Let’s Talk About” sessions, educator discussion spaces, and professional development, we create opportunities to build skills, exchange ideas, and strengthen literacy programming and outcomes for adult learners.
The For the Love of Literacy conference is one of the only annual events in Canada dedicated specifically to literacy instruction for adult EAL learners. This free, online conference offers engaging workshops, presentations, and meaningful opportunities to connect with educators who share a passion for literacy. Whether seeking fresh ideas, practical strategies, or professional growth, participants benefit from a rich program focused on strengthening literacy teaching and learning. The next conference will be held on January 24th, 2026.
